Delete Your Account

This page explains how to delete your WB Exchange account and associated data, what we remove, and the records we are legally required to keep.

Plain summary

You can delete your account and personal data at any time — from the Profile tab in the app, or by emailing us if you no longer have the app. We delete the data we are not legally required to keep, and retain KYC and transaction records for the period required by financial regulations.

Delete your account from within the app

The fastest way to delete your account is directly in the WB Exchange mobile app:

  • Open the app and go to the Profile tab.
  • Tap Delete account at the bottom of the screen and confirm that you want to proceed.
  • Enter the one-time password (OTP) we send to your registered email address or phone number to verify that it is you.
  • Once verified, your account is closed immediately, you are signed out on all devices, and your biometric-payment enrolment on that device is removed.

Request deletion without the app

If you have uninstalled the app, cannot sign in, or would simply prefer to ask us directly, email support@wbexchange.com from — or quoting — the email address or phone number registered to your account, with the subject line “Delete my account”.

We will verify your identity before acting on the request and will complete it within thirty (30) days. We may ask for additional information where we cannot otherwise confirm that the request is genuine.

What we delete

When your account is deleted, we remove or anonymise the personal data we are not legally required to keep, including:

  • Your profile and account information (name, email address, phone number, date of birth) and your password;
  • Saved bank-account and payment details;
  • Device identifiers and push-notification tokens;
  • Your app preferences, notification settings, and biometric-payment enrolment;
  • Rewards and referral data that is not tied to an unsettled balance or obligation.

What we must retain, and why

As a regulated financial service, we are legally required to keep certain records even after your account is closed. In line with our Privacy Policy, KYC records and transaction history are retained for the period required by financial-services regulations — generally five (5) to seven (7) years after account closure — to meet our anti-money-laundering (AML) and other legal obligations.

Retained records are access-restricted and are securely deleted or anonymised once the required retention period has passed. They are not used for any purpose other than meeting our legal and regulatory obligations.

After your account is deleted

Deletion is permanent. You will lose access to your balances, transaction history, and rewards, and a deleted account cannot be restored. Before deleting, please withdraw any remaining balance and settle any pending transactions. If you wish to use WB Exchange again in the future, you will need to register a new account and complete identity verification again.
